4 Places You Can't Miss on the C么te d'Azur

Chic, stylish and bathed in sunshine for much of the year, it is no wonder that the C么te d'Azur remains one of Europe’s favourite holiday locations. Also known as the French Riviera, guests flock to this iconic stretch of coastline during the summer months. And the presence of the rich and famous is quite apparent by the yachts docked in the harbours in exclusive destinations like Cannes and Monaco.

If you are planning a trip here, take a look at some of the holiday rentals in the south of France. And here are just some of the sights that you should take in during your time here.

Relaxing on the Beaches in Cannes

La Croisette Boulevard is the main street that runs through the centre of Cannes, and many of the city’s favourite beaches can be found nearby. While there are many beaches that maintain their exclusivity through charging fees, there are also plenty of public beaches for those who don’t have a huge budget to spend. If you are in town at the right time, you will certainly spot a star or two at the world-famous Cannes Film Festival.

Strolling on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice

Nice is up there with the most famous French Riviera resort towns. And if you are here, you simply can’t miss out on strolling along the Promenade des Anglais. One of the most famous buildings along this pedestrianised stretch is the Villa Mass茅na, which was once the home of a princess. You should also make sure that you pay a visit to the beautiful Jardin Albert I, which is packed with palm trees and monumental fountains.

Enjoying the Life of Luxury in Monaco

Renowned for its opulent yachts, iconic race track and stunning natural scenery, Monaco is one of the world’s most exclusive destinations. This tiny country even has its own monarchy, and you can pay a visit to the Palais Princier to witness some of the treasures it contains. And you can’t visit Monaco without seeing its world-famous casino where thousands of Euros are won and lost every single minute.

Visiting the Hilltop Village of Eze

So far, we have only talked about coastal destinations, but head high up into the mountains and you will discover some of the most celebrated places of the C么te d'Azur. One of them is the village of Eze from which you can enjoy sweeping views of the Cap-Ferrat coastline. Walk the old cobblestone streets and it almost feels like stepping back in time with its tiny art galleries and artisan boutiques. If you are a fan of hiking, you should take a stroll on the trail which runs from the Fragonard Museum along the hillside and down to the coast below.

Though there is so much to see and enjoy during your time in this special part of the world, these are just a few of the unmissable sights which you simply must see in person.
