Road trips are one of the best ways to explore the world around you. When you hit the road, you get to take things at your own pace, explore areas you might not have found on a traditional vacation, and have only yourself to answer to.

However road trips are also a bit rough and ready; not the most comfortable way to travel, right? Not necessarily so.

It is totally possible to transform your road trip into a luxury escape, and here are a few things that will help you do that:

Hire a fancy car

If you want your road trip to be a luxurious affair, then you need a luxury car; a car that looks good, handles well, and offers you plenty of space. If your current car does not fit the bill, you may, then, want to look at short terms car leasing deals to cover you for the duration of your road trip. Choose a car you love and your road trip will already be a million times better.

Plan your itinerary carefully

If it’s luxury you have in mind. The well-trodden paths that most road trippers have taken before you may not be the best once., Most road trips are planned with convenience in mind so you’re more likely to come across beaten-up motels than luxury hotels. That means if you want a bit more luxury in your life, you will need to plan your own itinerary very carefully to incorporate the finest hotels and restaurants at each pit stop.

Hire a driver

It’d hard to feel like you’re living the luxe life when you are spending several hours each day driving on the highways. So, if you really want to take your road trip to the next level, why not hire your very own chauffeur. Sure, it won’t come cheap, but you’ll get to see the sights and have the road trip experience without ever having to get behind the wheel, and that my friends, is what real luxury feels like.

Ditch the drive-thrus

Drive-thrus are the most popular choice of many road trippers because, well you can drive through and you only need to make minimal interruption to your travel plans. If you want to travel in luxury, this will not do. Obviously, you are going to want to stop at Michelin restaurants and cute cafes along the way, but you should also ensure that you always have a cooler filled with the finest cheeses, cured meats, and bread, not to mention mineral water, so that, should you need to make a quick food stop, you will always have something indulgent to eat. Pack a picnic blanket and real cutlery if you want to really step up your game, and choose a quaint spot to sit instead of the car, too.

As you can see, it’s really pretty easy to turn your standard road trip into something a bit more special if you have the will to do so, so what are you waiting for? Time to hit the road.
