Simple Travel Hacks from the Pros

If there’s one word that sums up travelling its decisions. When you travel, you are required to make decision after decision after decision - from where you’ll go, what type of accommodation you’ll stay to what you’ll do when you’re there - the decisions are endless. It can make it pretty difficult to get the best deals and make the most out of your overseas adventures.

That’s why we’ve put together some awesome travel hacks - some of which you won’t thought of before - that those people who travel often - the pros - can attest work...

Flexibility is the key to Affordability

If you want to travel more, but you aren’t exactly Rockefeller, don’t fret, just release form control and become as flexible as it is possible to be. Why/ Because if you’re willing to go anywhere, anytime at short notice, you can take advantage of cancellations and late booking deals that can shave so much money off the cost of your trips.

Get Yourself a Credit Card

Professional travellers can’t believe how many people still do not have their own travel-friendly credit cards. There are lots of credit cards for people with fair credit that will allow you to collect air miles with every purchase you make. So, if you pay for everything with your card, then pay the balance off in full when it’s due, you can get tons of miles for absolutely nothing!

Newsletters are Your Friend

Most of us hate newsletters and email alerts clogging up our inboxes., but if they’re for travel-based companies, we should love them, Why? Because you can often get much better deals when you’re signed up than you can on the website or via the agent and if you’re good about checking those emails as soon as they come in...well you’re even more likely to get a great deal.

Mix and Match

If you want to avoid expensive baggage fees and cut quite the figure in Paris or Rome, then you need to stop packing your whole wardrobe and start packing just a few items that can be mixed and matched in various ways. There are lots of resources which will show you how to create a capsule wardrobe, and you should use them. It’ll save your back as well as your bank balance.

Make Friends

If you make friends wherever you go, you’ll always have people you can go to in an emergency; people who can let you in on the best spots to eat and people who you can hang out with when you feel like some company. Of course, people are just plain interesting and the more you engage with the people you meet overseas, the more you will get out of your trips.

Copy Everything

Now that it’s so easy to copy everything electronically, you should do so. Your passport, your flight tickets, your hotel information, emergency contact information - everything should be duplicated digitally so if the go missing, all is not lost.

Take the advice of the seasoned traveller, do this stuff and experience holiday bliss without anything going amiss!
