3 Sights You Must See If You Go To Australia

There is no doubt that Australia is one of the top destinations across the world. There is so much to do and see there that it is impossible to consider a worldwide tour without at least a fairly extensive stopover down under. But if you are only able to stay there for a short time, you might well be wondering what you can do to ensure that you see the main sights. As it happens, there are a few key sights which you should ensure to see if you visit Australia, and those are what we are going to look at today. Let’s take a look at the top sightseeing opportunities across the continent of Australia.

Ayers Rock

Ayers Rock, or Uluru to the natives, is easily one of the most impressive sights in the entire world, and particularly in Australia. Essentially, it is a large slab of sandstone almost practically in the very middle of Australia geographically, and it has long been recognised as a World Heritage site. There is no doubt that it is one of the absolute must-sees of Australia, and if you do go you are bound to be blown away by the sheer scale of the rock. If you are feeling particularly fit, you can even choose to scale the rock, although if not you can instead simply walk around its base. That itself, however, could well take you around four hours to do, so make sure you are prepared for a trek if you do want to do that.

The Great Barrier Reef

Just another example of how much Australia has to offer can be seen in the Great Barrier Reef. This, again, is unlike anything you will see anywhere else in the world, and it is an absolute must-see for any visitors to this vast land. Essentially, the Great Barrier Reef is the largest piece of coral in the world, but it is much more than that to see. Taking ReefFree Tours around this area is enormously satisfying for any visitor. Although it is sadly decaying slightly in recent years, there is still plenty to see, and it is one of the best day trips you can possibly take within the country of Australia. There is nowhere else in the world quite like the Great Barrier Reef, so be sure to see it if you are planning a trip down under.

Australia Zoo

The original conservation zoo of the legendary Steve Irwin, Australia Zoo is still run by his family, and if you are lucky enough you might even get to see them perform the famous crocodile feeding show. This is something that you can see nowhere else in the world, and it is a fantastic day out for the individual, couple or family alike. Beyond that, it is also home to a great many animals, some especially exotic. You can see the Australian icons of koalas and kangaroos, as well as African beasts and snakes and giant tortoises too. Whatever it is, Australia zoo is bound to have it.
